First
Day Cover
For the First Day Cover design shows the commemorative
plaque arranged it to fit within the 90mm left hand side of the First Day Cover
envelope with other necessary information..
I have assumed the issue date to be the 20th May 1996, the exact
anniversary of Shackleton's arrival in Stromness.
The plaque is situated on a pedestal outside the domestic entrance of the station manager's villa a little way from the foot of the steps.
