British Antarctic Survey Dog Team on Sea Ice

The 'Hobbits' sledging near Halley Bay 1971.  The team operated in the area from 1969 to 1972.  In this painting the detail is historically accurate in terms of the drivers clothing and sledge load of the period.  Each dog is an accurate portrait:-

Changi (lead dog),  Luqa (his right),  Ratti (dark and behind),  Dusty (Changi's left),  Esk,  Mitral,  Gandalf,  Bophur, and  Wensen.  The team was typical of the time and one of the last to travel in Antarctica.   Link to original painting.

Print details:  Print size:  12½ x 20½ inches on paper of size 16½ x 23½ inches.  Paper quality is 'Consort Royal' 200g with applied silk textured finish, printed in four-colour litho processed from 'CTP processless' plates.
