Fossil Bluff is situated on the coast of
George V Sound, which separates the southern part of the Antarctic Peninsula
from Alexander Island. It is a small station, built on glacial moraine
of the Eros Glacier overlooking the sound which at this point is about 35 km
wide. The sedimentary rocks in the vicinity are host to a variety of
fossils.
